Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS) is a motor speech disorder that can be challenging for SLPs to both assess and treat. This seminar is offered to help professionals navigate their way to achieve optimal outcomes in children with CAS of all ages and severities. Lisa will provide participants with an opportunity to view many different aspects of CAS, best practice for assessment, and examples of what evidence based treatment looks like in real time. Ideas for maximizing collaboration, carryover and moving past barriers to treatment will be discussed. Lisa will share many strategies, activity ideas and techniques backed in research to use with those children with suspected CAS and CAS. The goal of this seminar is to increase the confidence when working with children with CAS by furthering understanding of assessment and treatment and providing multiple functional ideas and strategies to weave directly into daily practice.
