It is well-established that children with a history of speech-language problems are at significantlyincreased risk for later academic problems, particularly reading and writing. This course will brieflypresent background information on the association of speech-language problems and literacy, followedby discussion and demonstration of specific techniques and activities for clinicians and parents to use inorder to facilitate emergent literacy and literacy skills.
